WHAT’S THE TASK OF TODAY?

The 12 international design students of the FutureLab_16 just started to engage themselves in the new topic: “Simple mechanics – opening, presenting or using products with an easy mechanical system”.

To get some inspiration and ideas, the students are walking around the ProSweets Cologne right now.

We are glad for the support of many exhibitors here at the fair, that helps the students to be creative and get information to machines and materials, being able to use it for their presentation at 11:00.

PRESENTATION TIME!

And again, it is presentation time for the design students at the FutureLab. At eleven o’clock, over thirty ideas were presented to the audience. These concepts all were related to today’s topic: Simple Mechanics.

After the presentation the visitors could vote for their favourite ideas. These concepts are right now developed further to be presented at 1:00 pm.

THE FINAL PRESENTATION

Finally it is time for today’s last presentation. Again, the students developed three exciting products from scratch in only six hours. Thank you for visiting us, we were more than happy to give you an insight in the designers’ work during the last days.

Candy Cannon 2K16
Shoot in the air at the trade fair

Ways of packaging candy balls can be very boring. Only placing candy inside a box or tube is not attractive enough.
How can we create a more entertaining and eye-catching product?

We came up with an idea of shooting candy balls from a cannon tube by pulling the rubber net.

As we were given the task to generate a simple mechanic, we managed to design a mechanism that can load a cannon from the castle-looking container by twisting it.

Now it is time to make your party more exciting!

Robot Rocket
Flip it Drop it Eat it

Robot Rockets is a perfect gaming set for your hang-out night. Simple, entertaining and tasty. Your mission is to control both arm sticks harmoniously together to catch the sweet and lift it over the galactic gate.

Practice eyes – hands coordinating with your friend and try catching some delicious candies with your robotic arms.

Not just another party game: it has an easy-to-transport size cube made of steady but light cardboard. 2 arms with challenging paws for you to work the scooping that will make you bite your lips.

Shooting Stars
Chatty Candies

We all remember the days in
school when we threw paper rocks
at each other to secretly
communicate during a lecture.

Shooting stars are designed just for that.
Except this time with a treat inside.
As you shoot a star at someone it unmistakingly falls flat and reveals the candy placed inside. Eat the candy and turn the star around to find your message.

Next time you have a secret message to share, just get chatty.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST AND GREAT DAYS AT THE FUTURELAB

The ProSweets Futurelab is over. We had days filled with research, idea development and work, but also with many conversations with experts from all over the world who used the opportunity to speak with young designers about products, procedures and processes. The students developed 12 new products – which of course only can be the visualisation of an interesting idea, and not a finalised realistc product.

We hope you enjoyed our performance, and we will be happy to see you again.
